Frederick High School Alumni Association, Inc.

History of the Association!

• Since approximately 1965, alumni members of Frederick High School have held an annual reunion to honor different graduating classes as they celebrated their 20th, 30th, 40th and 50th anniversaries. The last class to be honored was the graduating class of 1961 on their 50th Anniversary in July of 2011.

• In 2006 the emphasis of the event was shifted to an annual banquet rather than a reunion although graduating classes were still being honored.

• In 2008, a scholarship program was added to the annual banquet. Funds for this purpose were generated from donations from alumni members attending the banquet.

• An additional revenue source for the scholarships began in 2011 with the Association sponsoring what has become an annual golf tournament.

• In 2013 the board decided to expand it's membership to include students that graduated from Erie and Longmont during the absence of a High School in Frederick. These Graduates were honored at the banquet held in July of 2013.

• The Association is currently trying to locate students that have graduated from Frederick High School since the return of our own High School in 1979 to the present time.

• In 2014 the Association added the Friends of Mario Portillo Schlorship funded by friends of Mario Portillo. 6 scholarships have been awarded since it's addition.

• To date the Association has presented 23 scholarships to Graduates of Frederick HIgh School.
